last 2 sundays..ran the NB 15K for the first time !! (NB=New Balance). Our kuantan group ramai juga yang lari this time.. only William was missing in action as he was on a business trip somewhere outside Malaysia , but Sharon did turn up with her sister !! . the run started and ended at Padang Merbuk , near Taman Tasik Perdana.. My time was... around 1 1/2 hours.. (despite the Lack of training for this run !).. most of the time i was pacing with Elizabeth !! masa the 1st 5k saw azwar zoomed by...yikes...  hahaa.. and later saw him again , after the run lah ! im still waiting for the results to come online at the pacesetters website !! to those yang tak tahu apa2 pasal pacesetters, please visit http://www.pacesetters.com.my and fill yourself up with the club's info ok. i've been unoficially promoting this club to my friends when i get the chance to.. hihih...kaylah..tata peepz...have a nice day ! Sunrise @ Beserah, Pahang & Teluk Cempedak

before i edited this entry , i had Simply Red's "Sunrise" lyrics pasted in here.though i like the song (one of d songs which i play over and over again in my shuffle..), i guess its not suitable at all with the beauty and serenity that Beserah beach had to offer during my last trip there...( talking about *perkaitans*)
its been a long and hectic week last week.. many things to work on and settled, problems to face&tackle, and a run (last sunday) which i didnt have enough training for... but since I'm in Kuantan ,I consider myself pretty fortunate as there's always a place for a brief (and effective) getaway (any time i needed one..) The ever famous TC (Teluk Cempedak) , Teluk Tongkang , 3rd Bay (the bay after teluk tongkang thru Tiger Hill* as some Kuantan Pacesetters may call it ) ..If you're the type who enjoys an evening/morning walk/run , there's always THE route. Thanks to Pacesetters Kuantan for 'introducing' me these marvellous running routes : Gelora-TC-Gelora , TC-Bkt Pelindung-TC , Gelora-3rd bay-Gelora and a few other routes.. If you long for a picnic breakfast , you could always pack nasi lemak and drinks, and drive to Teluk Cempedak. The beach is always welcoming. Come in the morning , it would be perfect , as the beach crowds come in the evening. Sunrise , sunset , just name it.. the view is always spectacular !
many a time i wonder whats life gonna be like once I'm back in KL..(missJeweLz will be transfering to the Gombak campus in June).. and these beautiful and exciting routes will remain as something which I would recollect every time I run in KL.. I'm not merely talking about 'routes' or 'running' here.. (Consider yourself lucky I'm actually sharing this with you)  , and I wouldn't mind anyone considering this 'sharing' thingy as Lame or whatever you may call it. (my siblings do that most times, talking about gen-gaps)
Ive been running with the Pacesetters Kuantan since last year (during Ramadhan) , and before that individually. It was such a bliss to have met this great bunch of people, of various race,age and background, and I hope to be in touch with them once I move back to home town ! and since most of them are actually older than me , mixing with them gives me a blend of fun,excitement and at the same time educational ! hahaha.. I wish to write more about our Kuantan team , but it'll be of course in another entry.. at least before i go back for good !! uwaaaaa.... wanna cry ooo....
Me and my friends have been on several morning 'rock' climbing here in Teluk Cempedak. Ive posted the pictures in my entry (page 2 ,dated 18th March '06) . Do check them out !! I am aware I actually am promoting Kuantan ! (doing my bit for the negeri i love)heheheh... you people from the west coast , datang Kuantan lah !!! Jalan2 sini ! (",) you won't need to worry of extra cash as the shopping here sucks. huhu.. but in case you need it, there are ATMs at every corner.  But don't be surprise if I tell you some of my mates here in UIA have been to Teluk Cempedak once or twice through out the 5 years stay here ! or none at all.. boring la you people.study , study jugak . sorry for the slight exaggeration !
Ok...back to my 'many a time'... many a time i wonder if LIFE would ever be the same after June !!!! different place,people,atmosphere,weather,ROUTES...whoa...its Good to wonder as long as you don't Wonder Off that fast ! but I am looking forward for this change .. !!! to my friends here in Kuantan , forget- each- other- not !!! and if not...PUTUS !!! hahaha..just joking ! I'll be looking forward to meet you people in the near future.. or tak pun once you people are officially called Doctors, Pharmacists , Nurses.. . Mind you , Shamina has made an appointment(in advance) to consult me in case she need a psychotherapy !! Ive noted that in my diary Sham ! no worries !

hehe..my later turns out to be a few DAYS later(still Later tho)..ok , the Jelita run was OK .. tak ramai orang ! the run organizer mentioned (in last month's Jelita ) that they expect at least 3000 runners on the 30th April ! rasanya tak sampai 1000... rasanye..or at least 1500..start off was at 7.30 am..the short 5k run route is getting familiar now as this is my 3rd run following almost the same route.. (great eastern pacesetters 30k,rakan cop,jelita)..tapi to those regular runners yg slalu join runs which start off @ merdeka square , i guess you people tutup mata pun boleh lari ikut this route .. (crystal, you're one of them ah !!!)..ok ...so,i did like under 40 minutes..exact time aku tak sure.. yes, i havent got a digital watch yet..i went all way analogue by just looking at the clock tower @ mrdka square .hahahaha..
came in 11th..Peng Peng came in9th.. adik Siti Nor 7th , Kimbeley 4th ..no tan wah sing, cikgu Lee or Moto Cai here coz this run for woman only !!!!
kay lah...don't want to write much more here.. as there's not much to write here... oh yes , thank you Mr Hafidz for becoming the unofficial photographer on that Sunday ! Great pics, nice shots..keep playin with your new toy ah ?! hehehehhe... kay lah (again), y'all have a nice weekend yeah !!!

MAJLIS PELANCARAN PROGRAM KE ARAH PAHANG BEBAS DADAH & HiV/AIDS

salamz and a good day to all ! yesterday was helluva day ! a busy and a tiring one too ! Cikgu Lee , Azrul and a few others already reminded me to be at the padang MPK1 by 7.30am...ya OK ..so , on the beautiful Sunday morning (23/4/06) i woke up at 7.00am !!! ayya...hope its not too late lah ! so i rushed to the venue.. (i did take my shower mind you!!!).. azrul , cikgu Lee and wife was already there.Pau Chen and Ah Seng having breakfast somewhere nearby.anyway , the MAJLIS PELANCARAN PROGRAM KE ARAH PAHANG BEBAS DADAH dan HiV/AIDS was a successful one ! For your info the event was organized by NADA (National Anti-Dadah/Drugs Agency) and DIC..
Pacesetters Kuantan members were among the many team/contigent taking part on the event , which started off with a perarakan (we didn't have our banner with us tho this time..). The less than 2km walk started from the MPK 1 field and back again.We paraded with the banners supplied by DIC (Dadah ) . Quite fun ! (i've never been in a parade before...) Check out the photos okay ?!!
Peak of the program was the symbolic 'hair cutting' of Mr.Khalid , an ex addict, by HRH Sultan of Pahang , Sultan Ahmad Shah.. i manage to snap a few photos of the 'ceremony' , and later a picture of me & Encik Khalid himself. He is one of the key players of the historical event.. HISTORICAL ?! Of course lah you !!! the campaign is to gain awareness from the society of various levels okay , as the fight against DADAH is not a fight of one person , but a fight of all...

“ Penagih dadah negara kini terdiri dari yang kian berumur muda. Menteri Belia dan Sukan Datuk Azalina Othman berkata, hampir tujuh dari 10 penagih dadah dalam negara terdiri dari mereka yang berumur di antara 13 hingga 39 tahun…Yang menyedihkan ialah hampir 80 peratus ialah Melayu.”
Actually , sudah banyak program / kempen2 yang telah dianjurkan oleh kerajaan untuk membendung 'musuh' ini , namun , sehingga ke hari ini , tiada satu pun program2 tesebut yang berjaya. From this point , i think yesterday's program , which is focused on the state level , is a very very good start.Masyarakat perlu prihatin dan mengambil bahagian untuk memerangi dadah durjana ini !!!!
SERONOK SEMENTARA , SENGSARA SELAMANYA .. inilah manusia yang kadang-kadang leka dengan kehidupan dunia , dengan kehidupan masa sekarang hinggakan kehidupan yang akan datang diabaikan , malah dilupakan . . nak enjoy jer reti .. so please , i beg all of you , STAY AWAY FROM DRUGS !! kita masyarakat prihatin ! kita masyarakat yang saling menyayangi ! jangan dok lena sangat .. take care of your life by staying away from drugs , and prove that you care of others too !

hola !!! i'm back ! this time with a few pics taken during the event mentioned above. i was there at Dataran Merdeka on Sunday , 16th April '06 , with other Kuantan area Pacesetters members. the historical and national pride >> Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad << was a sight to behold .. but my photo of it is not so clear , hand moving . but u can see for yourself that it is really beautiful !!!!!! I
well there were 5 of us , as u can see from the 3rd foto ; Jimmy Topi , Cikgu Lee , me , Ah Fook and Moto Chai. 4 o fthem (me aside) are very good runners >> Jimmy Topi got 4th in his category , Cikgu Lee >> 1st !!!!!! , Moto Chai got 5th .. each walked away with cash >> RM3000, RM1500 and RM1000 respectively . Ah Fook got 20 ++ place (can't exactly remember his position). And as for me >> 14th place !! ada a bit of improvement (time/position wise)...
tried to cari the Gerak Khas actors..no luck !!! whateva it is,, the after-race was quite fun..saw d PM, PDRM pancaragam performing , apa lagik...oh yes..pertunjukan payung terjun , and much more... tapi food wise , biasa je...to me , yg penting after lari ni is F.O.O.D.. reload the carb lah.hahahahha....kay lah , i malas to write banyak-banyak.. just tengok the fotos la !!!!

salamz and a good day to all !! Pacesetters members how are you ??? i'm sure all of you have taken a look at the pictures taken during the long boat race in kuantan . anyway , to you , yes...you there ....here is an exclusive photo taken by the the Gerak Khas director himself..(upon request lah...).you can't see him as he is behind the camera.i consider myself very lucky to meet this macho team at IPPKL . yes , lucky !! they were there to rehearse for the Pelancaran Rakan Cop (National Level) which will be held this Sunday (16/4) , launched by our beloved PM !! oh by the way , the annual Larian Mesra Rakan Cop will be held on the same day !!!

FMI- Pertandingan Perahu Panjang , Esplanade @ Benteng, Kuantan

last weekend i took part in the perahu panjang race (traditional long boat race) organized by the FMI.. me and other PACESETTERS lady members took part in the womens team alongside other government/private teams.. our Pacesetters members include Miss Soh, Crystal , Elizabeth, Haw Hui Ling, Pau Chen (sorry not sure of d spelling..) , myself and 6 others. We were informed about the race 3 days before the 1st heats !!!! ayya... !!! our Bay Route set run had to be cancelled coz training started on Thursay.. sempat la 3 kali training.
1st day : our 1st time on a long boat , no experience , no training or whatsoever coaching before this. No coach or trainer on the boat with us , all ladies , except for Abe Din.. and yes , our boat capsized. Waktu petang kat Sg. Kuantan nieh , air pasang , the waves were strong , super added by the passing big fishing boats. ..humm..then came another big wave and we all panicked , started moving here and there.boat continued shaking .. next moment we were all in the water !! a few members can't swim , that added the problem , more panic. but luckily we manage to cool down a bit (thanks to Abe Din) plus other members who helped each other to keep calm until a small inflatable boat came to the rescue. moral of the 1st day training , LEARN NOT TO PANIC
2nd day : this time our training session was much shorter , more focusing on the kemudi (anchor) . we manage to keep our cool...  .. no accident today . thank God ! tak berpeluh pon like the 1st day !
3rd day : Our third and final training.. this time all out , we were supplied with gloves this time..(as some of us had cuts on our fingers >>> semangat mendayung punya pasal..) Ah Be was our coach . His coaching was good and we managed to improve on our paddling skills , the synchornization of each member , bla bla bla... Elizabeth and I were paired up in the 1st row.. Coach with his whistle , blowing and making our eardrums want to pecah !!! ayya... balik nak tidur pon my ears still ringing !! anyway , we had a hell of a last day (and last minute) training. tomorrow have to come at 8am for registeration !

SATURDAY - 1st day heats
that morning the women's team were all excited !!! we were hoping to make it for the finals !!! as the total woman's team were 13 , the 1st heats comprised of 6 teams , 2nd heats 7 teams. we were informed that we were in the 1st heats , and to be in the finals , we have to finish as the top 4 groups !! meaning got to beat 2 other teams. The Pacesetters members were all in high spirit and were confident that WE CAN make it to the finals ! unfortunately , luck weren't on our side that morning. we were the last team to get on the boat , tugged by the Bomba boat to the start line. We were getting ready and trying to align our boat (with the other boats) when the air horn was blown. chaos. we were not ready tapi dah start off..ayya... crystal did her thing >> pukul gendang .. im not sure if the rest of the team's paddling were synchronized or not coz i was at the front..humm... and then the ring for the kemudi's big paddle gave us some problem.. we ended up rowing in circles !! ada la 3, 4 kali tawaf... so , we didn't made it to the finals ! the Bomba bot came to tug us (again) ..Crystal non stop complain this and that . i couldn't talk much coz i lost my voice the on the 2nd day of training !! apa-apa pun , its the racing spirit that matters. we tried our best didn't we ladies ?!!!!
to MCA,Pacesetters and all involved in making our participation a helluva experience , thank you so much !!!! to MCA , thanks for the support , and yes , the tasty free lunch !!!!! yam , yam... to the men's MCA team , congrats for making it to the semis !!!! We'll pray for better luck next year okay !!!! to Ah Be , Cikgu and Abe Din , thanks for helping with the women's team !
I've taken some photos throughout the training and racing days , but didn't upload all of them here at my fotopage.i'll burn then on a cd , and will make a copy for any of you who wish to have one. Have a nice day you all !!!!
